I enjoy typing.com and 10fastfingers.com as well. Check them out! Make has a great built in typing program called "Typist." I believe it is free and it is very enjoyable. It will help you learn the commands that are needed for coding.

I have multiple keyboards with different switches. I enjoy the scissor switches that come with Mac keyboards and they are probably the cheapest and easiest to type on without too much fatigue.

The best 'sounding' layout that I have is SA keycaps on a Kailh Brown Box Switches as I don't really like the high pitch sound that people associate with Cherry MX Blues. However, probably my favorite keyboard is made by Nix and is a clone of the electro-capacitor switches that Japan produces known for called 'Topre.' It is extremely quiet. Probably the quietest keyboard that I own.

I have an old 90's rubberdome keyboard with sliders that probably produces the most pronounce tactile feel of all the keyboards that I own. It is enjoyable until your fingers start to wear out!

And finally for those who love silent keyboards like I sometimes do who also enjoy a tactile 'bump' I have the Aliaz Silent Switches. They are much better than most others.

I generally use Cherry MX Silent Reds for the non-numerical non-alphabetical keys because I like the smoother linear feels for those (including the spacebar).
