Alltför ofta författare tror att de kan understryka ord genom att sätta dem i versaler. Det enda problemet är att när alla versaler används, förmågan att läsa ord minskas dramatiskt eftersom alla bokstäver är rektanglar. Ett mer effektivt sätt att betona ord är sparsamt använda fet, kursiv, understruken och kombinationer av dessa stilar.
